left alongside Dr. Sam Hamilton-who was a widower and a very formidable person–very few people called him”Sam”-“Dr. Hamilton”. Two of my aunts are among the small children standing with the maid. Actually, Lilly raised all of her sibling and was the lady of the house at quite a
young age. Most of these children married locally and have interesting stories of their own.
